The Best Days: Missing the Memories

First of all, it’s my brother’s birthday today, so yay him! Just reached double digits, and even though I can’t really post a photo of his face here, I’ve decided to turn him into Danny DeVito (my king) and put a photo of the king instead of my baby.

I’m not shrinking it because I think we should appreciate him in all his glory

Moving rather swiftly on from my funny five minutes, things I miss.

You are all almost definitely aware by now that I am a super emotional person and I end up missing lots of things, people and objects alike. It’ll take way to long to list every single thing I miss, so I’ve decided to talk about one of the slightly more bizarre things I miss: days out, moments and memories.

Some days are so great that you can’t help but reminisce about them and wish that you could re-live that day again. I’m here to tell you about some of the most memorable days of my life, that I still can’t help missing now. I’ve been planning this article for a while now, and I finally have a reason to do it which is super cool! So let’s go! Two birds, one stone!

  1. The British Museum

In October 2018, I had one of the best days of my life. My family and I went to London to the British museum because my brother was studying Egyptians at the time and they have the famous Rosetta Stone there. After looking at the artefacts, something I really enjoyed, we met up with my Dad (he was working in London while we were at the museum) and went to my favourite restaurant chain: Hard Rock Café. It was an amazing day and I constantly wish I could do it all again.

2. Day out in Brighton with my big brother

30th August 2019, I spent an entire day with my friend in Brighton. The last time I went there was when I was around six, so it was really nice to go again. The weather was gorgeous, we went up the I360 which was one of the most amazing experiences of my life – even though I’m super scared of heights, I adored this. We walked along the beach, played games at the pier and the weather was absolutely amazing. On a slightly different topic, the food was great. We both completely pigged out, Greggs washed down with Starbucks for a mid-morning snack, Taco Bell for lunch, pretty sure we had other snacks because that’s just how we are, and then McDonald’s for dinner, with a McFlurry at 10pm because that’s just how we roll. When I was feeling rubbish in school that following term, I just kept reminding myself of how much I enjoyed that day and how ready I am to do it all over again.

3. SITC

Even though it was two days, they were still the greatest days. I got so many hugs! I went with my amazing friend Thumper, and we met a load of new people who we instantly became great friends with, and dubbed ourselves “the bagel cult”. I felt super accepted by everyone I met and it was really cool to meet some of my all time favourite YouTubers.

4. Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour Concert

You should by now be fully aware that I have a tiny obsession with Taylor Swift, so when my Mum got tickets to her tour, I was so excited. It was by far the greatest concert I have ever been to, the set was insane, the costumes were to die for and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life. As soon as she goes on tour again, you better believe I’m getting front row tickets.

5. The day in London with my Dad

As you can work out from context clues alone, I love London. I also love musicals and true crime, but that will make sense in a moment. So, when I was given the opportunity to go to the London Dungeons with my Dad, I grabbed it with both hands. It was so much fun, especially because they’d just introduced a new Jack the Ripper experience – something I was studying in school – so it was educational and so much fun! After we spent time walking around London, we sat in a McDonald’s (I think McDonald’s is a reoccurring theme to be honest), my Dad bought us tickets to see my all time favourite musical, The Book of Mormon, live in the West End! The seats were four rows away from the stage which was perfect and I loved it. The whole day was an amazing bonding experience with my Dad and I still wish I could relive that day over and over again.

Even though I really miss these days and experiences, I’m happy they’re memories, because even though I know I can never repeat them, they shaped who I am today and I’m so grateful to each of these experiences for giving me hope, or a safe space to think about when I’m in an awful situation. As Tay-Tay says…

Hold onto the memories and they will hold onto you.

New Years Day, Taylor Swift

A Day In The Life Part Two

Today I need to bullet point my whole day. I had a really great day today (01/08/2020), and I can’t wait to share it with you! This is going to be a short and sweet article, so I’m sorry if you prefer my longer articles but I think this one needs to be short. 🙂 Please feel free to like, comment and follow, all that usual stuff.

  • 10am Wake up, ate breakfast, watched How I Met Your Mother, the usual stuff I do on a Saturday morning.
  • 11am Had a shower, completed my skincare routine, a little bit of self care and things. I had to sort out what I was going to wear, what I was going to do today – this took a lot longer than I anticipated… Oops.
  • 12pm After finally sorting everything out, I put on my makeup and got changed. I wrote a couple of blog articles and organised things in my bullet journal.
  • 1pm I had lunch and watched a bit more Netflix, just chilled out a little bit.
  • 1:30pm I went to town to meet my friend, Pastel, so she could help me do some shopping for my brother’s birthday.
  • 3:30pm After seeing old teachers, siblings, and other people we knew, we settled down in The Little Brown Bag and had a mini coffee date – well, smoothie and milkshake gossip – which was super cute and fun ❤
  • 5:30pm Four hours of me dragging Pastel around everywhere, we went our separate ways and I went home.
  • 6pm Dinner, took off my make-up, gave my brother some stuff and settled down to work on my blog, did some online shopping (the drip don’t stop, so you better respect it) and watched even more Netflix while eating snacks.
  • 12am Because my sleep routine is so messed up, I went up to bed and managed to get to sleep by 2am (well, it was quite a lot later than that, but for being a good role model reasons, it was me being a bad influence and falling asleep at 2am).

Favourite Films

As you may know, I am a massive film junkie. Due to this, I obviously have my favourite films I constantly watch, over and over again. I’m here to share my top ten picks so I hope you enjoy it! I’m trying to keep my intros short and sweet this week so that you can focus more on the content at hand. If you prefer my longer, more personal introductions, I can go back to my usual programming if needs be 🙂

  1. Clueless
  2. The Princess and the Frog
  3. Game Night
  4. El Camino
  5. Hercules
  6. Shawshank Redemption
  7. Birds of Prey
  8. Beetlejuice
  9. The Orphan
  10. Toy Story (all of them!)
  1. Clueless

I will never shut up about how much I love this movie. It came out 10 years before I was even born, but even though it’s just reached its 25th anniversary, I still find this film iconic and hilarious.

2. The Princess and the Frog

Not only are the songs catchy and really good, this movie is magical in more ways than one. The character’s are iconic and the storyline rings true with a feminist perspective: the harder you work, the more you achive.

3. Game Night

Since this film came out, I’ve watched it every time I’m at home sick. I love all the actors and actresses too and no matter how many times I watch it I always laugh until my cheeks hurt.

4. El Camino

I absolutely love the Breaking Bad franchise, so when I found out that El Camino was coming out I was super excited about it. After finally watching it, I was obsessed. All my favourite character’s are in it and there are some truly heartfelt moments and I can’t help but love it.

5. Hercules

I watch this film almost all the time with my brother, meaning I have all these heart-warming memories whenever I watch this movie. I also adore the Greek Chorus – honestly all I need is my life to be commentated by them. And Megara is amazing so bonus points for that boss-ass bitch.

6. The Shawshank Redemption

This is definitely a must-watch-movie. The storyline is so original and well thought out, but also just so fascinating, shining a light on prison abuse, how hard it is to rehabilitate once you’ve left prison, and other social issues which are so important. A timeless classic with amazing twists.

7. Birds of Prey

A brilliant “get-over-that-scumbag” film, a great film about feminism, fighting, fearlessness and showing how amazing you can be on your own. This is the third time talking about this film on my blog alone, so you know I love it!

8. Beetlejuice

Yet another one I watched with my brother. A very original concept you have to watch. Also Betelgeuse’s suit us pretty iconic. Of course, it is a little bit confusing at times but the SFX are so cool!

9. The Orphan

My all time favourite horror movie. A psychological thriller which will constantly keep you on the edge of your seats. It’s the definition of expect the unexpected and I’m watching it right now!

10. Toy Story (yes, all of them)

By far one of the greatest, most heart warming/wrenching film franchises in the world. Even though the first two movies came out before I was born, I have watched them all religiously, and I can recite each and every film word for word.

What I’m Excited About

I’m a very excitable person, and I always love thinking about the future. Due to the fact I can’t decide on one singular thing I’m excited about, I’ve decided to write about all the things I’m looking forward to.

  1. My Sixteenth Birthday. It’s super cool to be an August baby, but it does mean all my friends are already 16. I’m looking forward to finally celebrating with my friends.

2. Starting Sixth Form. I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter in my life. I feel like I’ll be one step closer to all my hopes and dreams and I’m excited about learning about all the subjects I find fascinating.

3. My Brothers Birthday. As you know from my five blessings post, you’ll know I love my little baby brother. Especially, I love present shopping for him and I’m really excited about finding out what he thinks of the gifts I’ve made them.

4. Being able to go abroad again. This summer, I was meant to go to Disneyland with my family, but, due to unforeseen circumstances, it had to be cancelled which is pretty upsetting. As soon as we’re able to go back, I’m so excited about being able to go to America again. It’s going to be a perfect family holiday and I’m so excited about it!

5. Getting My GCSE Results. Even though it’s a nervous kind of excitement, I’m really interested to find out how well I did in my class and coursework. I just can’t deal with the suspense!

Five Blessings

I can already tell you right now that this article is going to be super cringe and corny. In order to make myself still appear “cool” and “edgy” – two words you would probably never actually associate with me – I have added a few memes just to kind of balance the cringe out with “oh damn, she’s kind of funny”. In all seriousness though, every single thing I’m about to talk about is a complete blessing in my life and I am insanely grateful for every-single-thing I have listed here.

  1. My Mum and Dad
  2. My Friends
  3. My Brother
  4. Peanut Butter

1. My Mum and Dad

15 Funniest Parenting Tweets Of The Week (July 7, 2019)
an accurate recreation of the hell I put my Mum through on the daily

If there is anyone who has always had my back, no matter what, it’s my parents. They’ve believed me since day one, making sure I’d be able to reach my dreams no matter what. They’re a shoulder to cry on, the best people to joke around with and, are just all around great people. They’re the reason I’m still here fighting today and the reason I have a peculiar sense of humour and, what I hold closest to my heart, they are the ones who showed me that I can do anything I want in this world. Thank you for making me feel completely fearless, you helped me at my highest highs and my lowest lows and I feel blessed to have you two crazies as my Mum and Dad.

2. Peanut Butter

Is Peanut Butter Good for You? Everything You Need to Know

Due to the fact I may or may not be tearing up over number one (I’m emotional, okay, now hush), I’ve decided to go down a slightly more light-hearted route and tell you about my one and only true love: peanut butter. When I say I love peanut butter, I don’t think you truly understand. When I was younger, I despised the stuff. I can’t really remember why but I know I hated it. That was until the summer of 2017. It sounds really sad that I remember the exact time and place, but it was the year I went to Disneyland, so I remember most of the things that happened on that trip. However, the most important thing that happened (this is debatable) was that I tried peanut butter for the first time in years… and I loved it. Ever since then, peanut butter has been there for me more than any friends or partners. Man, I love the stuff and I am blessed with it.

3. My Friends

Thanks for always putting up with my dramatic ass IIy – popular memes on the site iFunny.co #wholesome #memes #wholesome #loving #support #thanks #always #putting #dramatic #iiy #pic

If there’s anyone I know will have my back, it’s my friends. They put up with every single one of my insane ideas, schemes and impulse decisions. They’re like my babysitters who are almost as bad as me. Whenever we’re together, not one thing goes unsaid, we share it all and we’re not mad about it. I trust them with my life and they’re always so supportive, cheering me on with my idiotic ideas, while steering me away from my stupider ones. Each one of them has a heart of gold and I hold them all dearly to my heart, no matter how much we (play)fight.

4. My Brother

There is not a single person in this entire universe who I want to protect more than my not-so-little baby brother. He may almost be 10, but in my mind, he’s still 3 years old. He’s one of the purest people I know and he always tries protecting me. Of course, we may not always see eye-to-eye, but that’s normal and I will forever love my small child, who I have taught all my greatest tricks to.

5. My Blog

Even though I’m almost positive I’ve said this to death now, my blog is one of the greatest blessings in my life. It makes me feel important, as though I have a stage and that I may be able to make a change in the world. I know this is all super unlikely, but as I always say, I’m just a teen with a dream, ready to change the world at any moment.

Be grateful for the little things.

End Rape Culture and Victim Blaming!

Today I need to write about something I feel very strongly about. Of course, as I am a big activist and feminist, I have lots of topics to choose from, but the first one that came to mind was the problem with victim blaming and rape culture. Throughout this article, I am going to be explaining what problems our society has with victim blaming, going into my own and others stories of why we don’t speak out, and why there’s so much stigma around being sexually assaulted. This is quite a heavy-hitting topic so a trigger warning for anyone who is sensitive towards sexual abuse and the topic as a whole. Stay safe, I love you all, and let’s raise awareness about our shitty society! This article took me a super long time, researching, putting all my thoughts into words and making those words actually make sense. This is probably one of my favourite blog articles because I’m so proud of it so please let me know if you prefer articles like this which are more structured and informative 🙂

How can we get rid of #RapeCulture ? - Forum - Know My Rights Clothing Co.

What Is Victim Blaming and Why Is It Bad?

For anyone who doesn’t know, victim blaming is, quite simply, putting the blame of what happened onto the victim instead of the perpetrator. In the UK, only 15% of people who have been assaulted reported it to the police. There are many reasons why people don’t say anything and why the #MeToo movement was ground breaking as it showed that lots of people have suffered from abuse without speaking out. As you can see in the image above, those are some of the most common reasons that people are afraid to speak out. The world we life in presents such a stigma around being sexually assaulted, that rape culture and victim blaming is a common thing.

After my story was reported, I had lots of people ask me extremely personal questions, and try to put the blame on me. this is not ok. This promotes the fact we live in a society which sexualises people for what they wear, claiming that “if you wear a skirt that short, you are clearly asking for the attention” which is total bullshit. Wear whatever you want, do whatever you want, as I always say, as long as you’re not harming yourself or others in any way, go wild, do whatever you want. If it makes you happy, do it!! It’s despicable the amount of victims who haven’t been taken seriously because of what they were wearing, their alcohol intake at the time, and if they were flirting or not.

Some Photos To Think About:

Vancouver student Rosea Lake's photo etitled "Judgement" has gone viral, with more than 280,000 people liking and re-blogging it on Tumblr.

Those Who Assault and Why Many People Don’t Come Forward

Unfortunately, being assaulted is something you have to constantly be cautious about. If you are a female, I’m pretty sure you’ll know the fear you get when you walk alone anywhere. If I even hear so much as a patter of footsteps, I completely freak out and my brain goes full panic mode. The most worrying fact is I’m no longer fazed by catcallers and people yelling out to me, it’s an occurrence I’ve being mostly desensitised to. In the recent years, people (mostly men) who have either yelled abuse, cat-called me or said/done something inappropriate to me – a minor – is staggeringly high. It’s gotten to such a bad stage that when my friends see something like that, they freak out in situations I just shrug off. I used to love walking alone, putting in my headphones, listening to Taylor Swift, feeling like I was in some sort of music video, but now my friends (bless their little overprotective hearts) always make sure I’m not walking alone, or that if I am, that I message them once I’m home. They like being there to protect me and, even though I’d never admit it to them, I feel a lot safer with them around.

However, in many ways, being catcalled by someone who you have never met before is so much better than being sexualised or made uncomfortable by someone you know. You know that society has a problem when I have to choose one of those to nightmarish situations as a “preference”. God our world is f*cked. Statistics show that 90% of victims knew the perpetrator prior to the abuse. (Leaving all links to my info at the bottom of this so you all know I didn’t pull these percentages out of thin air). This is one of the reasons that I didn’t report as I was afraid I would be seen as provoking him. That’s the problem with being abused by your childhood friend, no-one will believe you because you still act as if everything is fine and dandy because you’re just so desperate to go back to how things were, even though you know there is no hope of that ever happening.

After My Story Was Told – My Experiences

I remember the entire day that everything came out like it was yesterday. I’ve spoken about it multiple times now and if you’re new around here, welcome and you can check out all of that here. As you know, the case never got convicted, which is a very common occurrence. Conviction rates for rape and sexual abuse are so much lower than other cases, with only 5.7% reported rape cases ending in conviction. We can’t expect to be taken seriously when almost all cases are acquitted before they’re even opened.

Something else which my abuser did after he started abusing me is he claimed to be gay. God, the poor LGBTQ community, you get enough hate as it is. He claimed to be gay two months after the abuse began, and continued to be vocal about “how hard it is to be homosexual” – when he’s… ya know, not. I learnt something the other day when I was watching stand up comedy which honestly made me laugh so, so much. Now I’m writing this I’m still laughing because it makes me sick and I can’t deal with it any other way. I found out that Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein – two of the most notorious Hollywood sex offenders – decided they were now also gay because their lawyers were failing them. I have no issue with famous actors and actresses who are gay, but when they fake it so they can avoid sexual assault charges? Oh, sweetie, someone will be getting hurt and it’s not going to be me.

Why I’m Still Shouting This From The Rooftops – Statistics Which Make Me Shudder

A third of people believe women who flirt are partially responsible for being raped (Amnesty, 2005)

Approximately 85,000 women and 12,000 men (aged 16 – 59) experience rape, attempted rape or sexual assault by penetration in England and Wales alone every year; that’s roughly 11 of the most serious sexual offences (of adults alone) every hour.

Approximately 70 women commit suicide every day in the US following an act of sexual violence.

During 2019, 13% of all women in California were victims of rape.

A quarter of male victims of sexual assault were under 10 years of age.

Infographic showing the number of people victimized in one year. Number broken down by inmates (80,600), children (61,000), general public (284,000), and military (18,900).

Words of Wisdom

I couldn’t really decide what I wanted to write as there are so many words of wisdom I could think of, so instead I have chosen a few of my all time favourite quotes and drop them here 🙂 I’m differing from normal articles at the moment and I’m really sorry if this isn’t your thing, I just feel like this will flow best, I promise I will be back to my normal writing style tomorrow, I just feel I need these two days of slightly random-ness and I’ll be back on track. Thank you so much for your love and support, it means the world to me.

Reacting To ‘folklore’ by Taylor Swift!

So I’m meant to be writing about something I struggle with, but mentally I’m doing better than normal and I really don’t want to write about things which make me sad because then I’ll be sad. Does that make sense?

However, I don’t want to just throw you so I’ve decided to write about something else.

By the time this comes out, Taylor Swift’s folklore album will be out officially. I’m in love with this album so I’ve decided to review the album as a whole and share my honest thoughts and feelings.

This is a bit different so please let me know if you enjoy it and I’ll write more like this.

First Thoughts

When I first listened to this album, all I could think about was how calming yet relatable all the songs where. It pays homage to lots of Swift’s early songs where she just played an acoustic guitar. I like how all the albums are in black and white because it just reinforces the aesthetic style she’s showing here. Also the fact she wrote an entire album during lockdown puts us all to shame. All I’ve really done is watch a load of Netflix. (I was trying to think about other things but that’s pretty much it… oops).

There are sixteen songs on this album so I’m going to try go into each of them and my thoughts on them.

Track listing and Thoughts

  1. the 1 – the melody is amazing and the lyrics are so raw and I just think it’s so catchy in a perfect way.
  2. cardigan – Honestly my favourite song of the whole album. It’s the perfect amount of angst and the lyrics and melody combined is perfectly haunting.
  3. the last great american dynasty – so quirky and slightly upbeat and based on a true story. Rolling Stone did a full article about the backstory which is a really fascinating read and talks about the songs star, Rebekah Harkness and Easter eggs you may have missed. Check that out here.
  4. exile – truthfully, not my favourite song. However, Bon Iver’s and Taylor Swift’s voices together is the most gorgeous thing I think I have ever heard. Personally, I find it slightly too slow but the lyrics hit home.
  5. my tears ricochet – a gorgeous song yet again, with ever-current and relatable lyrics.
  6. mirrorball – being brutally honest here, I find this a relatively skippable song out of all of them. The high notes may give me chills, but, it’s honestly a pretty forgettable song.
  7. seven – strong lullaby vibes from this song. A perfect mix of her old songs and her more recent work but somehow still sounding new and fresh.
  8. august – a calming song with a fascinating chorus with a plethora of notes. It’s also called August which I think is super cute because eeeyyyy birthdayyyy
  9. this is me trying – lyrics which as much as I don’t want to admit, I really relate to. Each of the lyrics make me go “eek, that’s me” and I love it.
  10. illicit affairs – I don’t really have much to say about this song except I adore it, her voice my G O D and the way she says “illicit affairs and clandestine meetings” does something to my heart.
  11. invisible string – The guitar is amazingly simplistic but it works so well. The whole song is just her life and I love how it flows. Also, the colour hints and subtle hints to her other songs, I see what you’re doing Taylor!
  12. mad woman – Yet another total banger of a song. Swift has an incredible talent for writing true feminist anthems. It talks a lot about how domestic abuse victims can be seen as a “crazy ex” which really hits home and makes me feel as though I’m less alone.
  13. epiphany – a song to just close your eyes and really listen to. I don’t have much to say about this song except I can’t help but listen to it over and over.
  14. betty – there is a harmonica at the start, then throughout the song it’s amazing. This entire song takes me back to all the fights I had with friends and how differently they could turn out. It reminds me of a modern twist of Fifteen and I think it’s genius. Another firm favourite for sure.
  15. peace – honestly nothing to monumental. It sounds lovely but it’s not one which makes me go woah
  16. hoax – a strong finish to a strong album. Nothing like anything she’s done before, it seems very fragile but also hard hitting and it’s just a great listen.

Parting Thoughts

Overall, I love this album. I think it’s a work of pure passion and you can tell it’s just emotions layered over each other. However, I do love her fast-paced songs and I can’t help but yearn for more of that. It’s a very chilled album and I’m pretty sure I’ll be listening to it while I revise and complete schoolwork.

Considering the fact she just casually made this album so we have something to listen and relate to is amazing and it just shows how amazing she is. The order of the songs is genius too, if you don’t understand, look at the track listing and the song titles and you’ll appreciate it.

Thank you so much for reading, let me know if you want to see more like this! I love reviewing things and I’ve never reviewed an album before, so let me know if you want more like this!

Love you all, Tati xx

10 Songs I’m Loving Right Now

I love music. You are all probably fully aware of this by now but I love music. It puts into words exactly how I’m feeling and it gives you a very catchy beat alongside it. When I found out I had to choose 10 songs I panicked because I love so many. However, I decided to just follow my gut instincts and pick the first 10 songs which come to mind. I’ve also made a playlist of the songs here if you want to check them out!

  1. Daylight by Taylor Swift

The best way to describe this song is by saying that I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It hits so close to home with every single lyric and I just think it’s such a gorgeous way to end an album. The subtle links to her other albums is such a genius touch. My favourite song off Lover by far. It’s also so fun to sing and play ukulele too as it’s all in my range!

Fave Lyric: Step into the daylight and let it go.

2. Thor by push baby

This banger ticks all the boxes for me. Catchy? check. Great lyrics that you can’t help but sing along to? Check. The rhythm and instruments are so unique your ears feel like you’re going on a journey? Check. This song helped me get through a break up because it made me feel less alone as someone else felt the had felt the same emotions and had gotten better.

Fave Lyric: And anyone close to me gets hurt the most, I’m my very own nemesis

3. Let It Go by The Neighbourhood

I remember first listening to this song because it was in one of my favourite books: Playlist For The Dead, and ever since then, I’ve been obsessed with The NBHD. They appealed to my inner angst and this song and the music video is a complete masterpiece, absolutely genius.

Fave Lyric: Let it struggle just a little bit more, let it struggle just a little bit more.

4. SAD! by XXXTENTACION

My guilty pleasure song. A few years back I was introduced to XXXTENTACION and, even though I would never admit it, some of his songs were really catchy. The lyrics are brooding and mysterious and the melody is super good. It’s not really my style as I feel like X’s music is more rElAtABle tEeN mUsiC but this particular song is really good.

Fave Lyric: I honestly don’t know bruh, pffft

5. Kiwi by Harry Styles

As soon as I hear the “she works her way through a cheap pack of cigarettes”, I instantly gasp and a massive grin spreads across my face. This happens every single time I listen to this song without fail. It’s such a catchy song and you can’t help but dance along to it and I always scream the lyrics. The ultimate hype song here.

Fave Lyric: Driving me crazy, but I’m into it, but I’m into it,
I’m kinda into it

6. Medication by YUNGBLUD

The most painfully British phrases in a banger of an anthem. YUNGBLUD is a Northern God and the music is the perfect amount of edgy and catchy. His fashion sense is to die for too.

7. cardigan by Taylor Swift

This song came out on the 24th of July and I listened to it five minutes ago. (It’s currently the 26th). I am obsessed. I get slight Melanie Martinez vibes whenever I listen to this song and I love it. This new album of hers is honestly amazing and this is my favourite at the moment.

Fave Lyric: When you are young they assume you know nothing.

8. B by Todrick Hall

The ultimate bye-bye bitch song. When this song first came out I was obsessed and now, two years later I’m still obsessed. It’s a great hype song and it gets me hyped and feeling truly bad-ass. Also the wigs that Todrick wears are to die for – they look absolutely perfect, not a hair out of place and the drag is amazing too.

Fave Lyric: Hope you happy with Melania cuz’ you lost Michelle Obama

9. Everyday I Love You Less and Less by Kaiser Chiefs

A song I grew up listening to and I still love it now. This song is a part of who I am and I have been known to yell the lyrics of this song for no real reason other than I just can.

Fave Lyric: Oh yes, I’m stressed, I’m sorry I digress

10. One More Night by Maroon 5

An innuendo filled song with a really great rhythm. Maroon 5’s old stuff was amazing and this is absolute proof of that, no questions asked. I feel like there’s not much more I can say other than, this song is amazing.

Fave Lyric: And now I’m feeling stupid, feeling stupid crawling back to you

There you have it! Ten absolutly amazing songs which I really recomend. What are your favourite songs? Let me know because I’d love to listen to your suggestions. Thank you so much for reading, I appriciate and love you.

Five Ways To Win My Heart

I am such a hopeless romantic. I completely blame Taylor Swift and Jim and Pam’s relationship in The Office for giving me unrealistic expectations of how amazing my future partner will be. Because of all this, when I saw that I was meant to write about five ways to win my heart, I instantly got so excited that I started dramatically staring off into the middle distance, practically singing “Someday my prince will come” from Sleeping Beauty which is completely not my style. I like to think of myself more as Wonder Woman, saving the world being her number one priority instead of dating, but here I am, living out some sort of princess fantasy about how one day someone will come and sweep me off my feet while simultaneously ticking off every single item on the list to win my heart. Full disclosure, I have only been single for about 3 or 4 months now and I forget how needy I can be. I am currently watching my friend be in an adorable relationship, while my other friend has turned himself into a babe magnet and I’m sat here watching my true crime documentaries while looking at dream universities, making pin boards on Pinterest or doing some completely pointless Buzzfeed quiz which may not impact my life drastically, but I feel like they do! All jokes aside, I am doing great without any romantic partner and crushing on people can be fun at times!

  1. An awful sense of humour.

This is probably the most basic thing I’ve ever said, but I need someone who laughs at the worst possible time, cracks awful politically incorrect jokes and just spews jokes which are dark, dirty and depressing. I need someone who makes me feel bad for laughing at their stupid joke because it was so pointless that it made me laugh. What can I say? I feel like everything’s to serious and I love being able to lighten the mood with my friends. It’s a lot harder to be funny on an activist blog where the articles are pretty dark anyway… Oops.

2. Big goals in life

Yet another super basic one, but if you’re a regular here on my blog – which first of all, thank you for putting up with me for this long! – you’ll know I have some pretty big hopes for my future. I like having big goals and I’ve always admired others who strive for greatness too. It’s such a small thing, but to be able to say “I’d really love to be…” or “Someday I hope that…” I just think it’s one of the greatest qualities a person can have. Aspiration is one of the main factors of what has kept me going on and fighting strong, so anytime I see someone else with that same factor, I instantly have so much respect and adoration for them because they know what they want and they refuse to let anything stand in their way.

3. Casually quote cult classic TV Shows and movies on the daily.

In particular The Office, but I’ll take anything really! One of my favourite things to do is irritate my friends by reciting musical lyrics or quoting some strange 80s film. One of my favourite things to say when I’m saying goodbye to my friends is “It’s been emotional”. If you know where that’s from then I adore you 🙂 It also means I’ll be able to binge things like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia or How I Met Your Mother with someone else! It gets lonely at times…

4. Top notch insults

The reason I get on so well with my friends is because they know no limits. The jokes they come up with are hilarious and their risqué sense of humour is something I love. If I find someone who insults me (in a joking way of course), you’ll immediately win your way into my heart. I instantly take it as a challenge to come up with an amazing comeback and then it’s game on. I don’t back down from the competition, which my friends have learnt the hard way.

5. A not-so-secret hopeless romantic…

…Like me! As much as I try hide it, I’m a sucker for an adorable relationship. The ones where they give you little things just because, or talk about how amazing you are to their friends. Ones where they just hug you because you’re there and the ones where you go out on cute dates to the beach and things. I have observed all of these from a distance and I want one for myself!
