What I’m Doing During Lockdown

I normally wake up at around 9:00am and when I say I wake up; I mean my Mum wakes me up.  I chat to her for a while about some crazy dream I had and then she finally manages to coax me out of bed, and by coax, I mean she gets my little brother to clamber over me until I’m practically shoved out of my own bed.

After I am unceremoniously dumped on the floor, I put on my dressing gown and mooch downstairs ready to eat cereal.  I got nostalgic before lockdown, so I got some cheerio’s and I’ve been eating at least a bowl a day… Oops.

I go upstairs and get changed, brush my teeth, have a shower and all that jazz.  I like video chatting with my friends, so I wear something nice, if I’m not wearing something chic and stylish, alarm bells immediately go off in everyone’s heads.  I pride myself in the outfits I wear, and my loved ones know that more than anyone.

If it was a day, I should be at school I’d aim to do five hours of schoolwork with regular breaks.  However, because I should be on Easter Holiday currently, I’m not doing that!!

I’ll go back downstairs and play a game with my brother.  So far, we’ve played Minecraft, air hockey, Bop It and even random games from when we were younger.  Earlier today we were both playing a Moshi Monsters game on my old Nintendo DSI.  After my brother successfully manages to kick my butt at whatever we’re playing, we start on our most recent challenge: getting five stars on everything in Just Dance 2014 on the Wii U.  We’ve been nostalgic recently… and by ‘we’ I mean me.  After we complete at least four dances, we both separate for a while.  I still don’t really know what my bro does during this time, but I know that I’ll watch Everybody Hates Chris or Rick and Morty or Buzzfeed Unsolved and if I’m feeling really adventurous, I’ll watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine.  After I’ve had a short-term fix of TV, I go up to my room and work on a Lego set… More specifically the LEGO Disney Castle.

Then, I’ll get changed and do one of the following: Paint my own or my Mum’s nails, work on a present I’m going to give one of my friends or do some colouring/activities in my Feminist Activity Book.  I’ll work on that until after Lunch and then go on to do sewing or embroidery as I find it very calming.

After that, I’ll get slightly existential and watch more TV.  While doing that, I normally find games I used to play on the iPad from when I was younger, and I’ll restart on those.  I’ve recently become obsessed with Jelly Splash and my Mum has had to pry the game away from me!  I typically do this for about half an hour to an hour and then I complete some Duolingo.  For the past three weeks, I have been learning Russian as I’ve always found it a fascinating language and I’ve always wanted to travel there.  I tried to learn the language before, but I never had the time to do it.  I strongly recommend it as it’s very rewarding and it’s good to keep your brain active during this time.  My Duolingo account is totallyxtati so feel free to follow me on that and we can learn Russian together 🙂

Finally, after I eat dinner, I’ll go out on my daily government allowed form of exercise.  I’ll go around my local area and practice skateboarding.  Thumper encouraged me to get into skateboarding and now I’m obsessed.  It’s super fun and I’ve only fallen off once which is pretty impressive considering I can barely walk in a straight line without tripping.

In the evening, I’ll watch a movie either on my own or with my parents.  I’ve watched some great ones (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) and some not so great ones (Lizzie).  I’m considering writing some more reviews so let me know if you want me to!  Also give me film recommendations. :)When I have the time, I’ll read and work on my blog. I’ve been enjoying having the quiet nights in to be honest.

This month has been difficult to say the least. Lets keep holding onto hope, and if we all listen to what the government says it should end soon. Until then, I’ve been Tatiana and just remember: Stay at home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives.
